A youth group under the auspices of the Council of Concerned Youths of Nigeria, has criticised Chief Bisi Akande for describing Nigerian youths as dishonest.
The former governor of Osun State had said in a report that it would be difficult to find honest future leaders among Nigerian youths.
Reacting to the statement, the National President of CCYN, Mr. Olumide Akinrinlola, in a statement, said there were honest youths everywhere in Nigeria.
“It is our belief that Chief Akande gave this statement after seeing that Nigerian youths are finally taking over from him and his likes that are already above 80 years of age. They have refused to hand over to the young ones.
“With due respect, when he uttered this statement, Baba should have given instances where the youths have failed the nation in the past.
“Or he should have told Nigerians how many youths he appointed in positions of authority that exhibited dishonesty when he was the governor of Osun State,” he said.
Akinrinlola insisted that there was never a time Nigerian youths betrayed the country.
