… Invites Speakers from Kenya, US, UK and Germany
This year’s edition of the Lagos Comic Convention will hold on September 17th, 2016 at NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The fifth edition of the annual event that serves as a rallying point and gathering of comic lovers and enthusiasts is a one-day ‘trade fair’ styled programme that will feature a central stage for exhibition/sales, keynotes and panels, multiple rooms for workshops, master classes and presentations and an area dedicated to co-working, networking and interactive installations.
In a statement by the Founder of Lagos Comic Convention, Ayodele Elegba, speakers at the event are drawn from Europe, America and Africa nations including United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Kenya and they have confirmed their attendance.
The annual comic convention which started in 2012 also promises to include series of competitions, workshop session, kids zone and movie screenings.
Elegba said: “This year’s edition promises to be bigger and more impactful. Every year the convention has grown to be bigger and better than the last in terms of organisation, crowd participation and quality of speakers and this year’s edition promises to be no exception. Already we have speakers confirmed from four countries; the UK, US, Kenya and Germany.
He said the event offers opportunity for the youths to participate in mentorship programmes, learn crafts, photography, graphic design, comic book making, digital painting among others. He therefore call on product vendors and sponsors, interested in showcasing their wares to get in touch and help develop the industry.
“Since inception, Lagos Comic Con has the goals of celebrating the successes of practitioners in the creative Industry, encourage broader participation and support the building of knowledge and capacity needed to straighten the sector and ultimately create jobs”, Elegba said.
