It’s ‘Minister Dalung’s Aide’ Abubakar Barde’s Birthday Today
YOUTHS DIGEST – Abubakar Barde, Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung adds another year today.
In his birthday message, The youth leader wrote: “While birthday marks the celebration of an individual’s life cycle, it is a reminder of Allah’s faithfulness and mercy in the life of his servants therefore more than celebrate, this is an opportunity for sober reflection and ask your inner mind if you have done that which God purposed for you to do.
“For every year you add, is a step closer to the closing of your chapter so one should be mindful of the days left that it may be spent in the service to Allah and humanity. I was born on this day 7th July some 36 years ago in the town of Donga, Taraba State.
“7th day of the 7th month is symbolic and a date I share with many prominent people and unforgettable events. One of such events though unfortunate, remains in the fabrics of this nation’s democratic history. On the 7th of July 1998, the death was announced of Nigeria’s former President elect, Chief MKO Abiola, GCFR.
“He won one of the most credible elections in this nation’s history and availed himself to be arrested despite imminent outcome. May his soul Rest In Peace.
“I therefore dedicate my birthday message to the survival of democracy against all odds. And to the fallen like Abiola who lived and died so that today, our votes may actually count. What was a pipe dream, was achieved in 2015, when the people stood to be counted, and counted they were.
“Thank you all and I really do appreciate your kind wishes. God bless you all.”
From all of us at Youths’ Digest we say Happy birthday to you, we wish you many more years of joy, love, laughter, health and prosperity. We wish you strength and wisdom for days to come and success with everything you do today and tomorrow.
