103 bag Unilorin 1st class honours

It has been reported that no fewer than 103 out of the graduating 12,108 students of University of Ilorin, Ilorin for the 2017/2018 acedemic session bagged 1st class honours.

The University of Ilorin says a record 12,108 students will be graduating in the 34th convocation ceremony of the University coming up next week.

This was disclosed by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sulyman AbdulKareem Age while addressing the press to mark the beginning of the 34th convocation ceremony held at the University Auditorium, today, in Ilorin.

The don said this is the highest number the University will be graduating in its forty -four years of existence, saying the success is the outcome of tenacity to end the 2017/2018 academic calender on record time inspite of the challenges the University contended with at the beginning of the session.

Giving the class breakdown of the graduands, Prof. Age said “We have 103 first class, 2553 Second class upper, 5750 Second Class lower, 1660 Third Class and 36 pass”.

” We have 104 MBBS graduands, 18 graduands in Pharmacy, 49 Veterinary Medicine, 32 Nursing graduands while a total of 25 Diploma graduands from the faculties of Education and Management Sciences.

“The higher degrees to be awarded this year comprise of 99 Postgraduate Diplomas, 1287 Masters from various faculties, 162 MBA/MPA/MILR/MGIS/MPH/MHPM and 236 PhDs” he added.
