An Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Wednesday, remanded a 55-year-old man, Adelakin Adeniyi, in custody over alleged forgery.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Joseph Adebayo, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 10, 2018 around 10:00 am at Ile-Ife.
Adebayo said the accused conspired with others, now at large, to commit felony to wit, forgery.
He added that the accused forged court affidavit, Ife East marriage registry stamp and stamp of Osun State Magistrates’ Court, Ile-Ife, which he presented as genuine.
According to him, the offence contravened Sections 465 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery.
The Defense Counsel, Mr Wole Omotosho, applied for the bail of the accused in most Liberal term, adding that his client would not jump bail, but would produce reliable sureties.
The Magistrate, Olukunle Owolawi, did not grant the accused bail but ordered that he be remanded at Ile-Ife Prison.
Owolawi adjourned the case until Feb. 13, for hearing. (NAN)
