A 26-year-old barber, Muhammed Omele, who allegedly robbed a man of N800,000, while armed with gun, was on Friday remanded in Kirikiri Prisons by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. I. Dan-Oni, while remanding Omele, ordered that the case file should be sent to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

Dan-Oni, then adjourned the case until Feb. 13 for the DPP’s advice.

The accused, who resides at No. 28, Ladija St., Ajegunle, Lagos, is facing a charge of armed robbery.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Victor Eruada, told the court that the accused committed the offence with some other persons still at large on Nov.17, 2018 at No 2A Aromoba St., Computer Village, Ikeja.

Eruada said that Omele and his accomplices entered into the boutique of the complainant, Mr Chukwudi Onwuka, and robbed him of his N800, 000 cash at gunpoint

“Omele and his accomplices were armed with a locally made pistol with three live K2 ammunition when they robbed the accused.

“The complainant later alerted the people around and the accused was apprehended, while his accomplices escaped,” he said.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes Sections 297 and 299 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
