The fourth edition of the Nigerian Social Media Summit has been set for October 19,2019. This was revealed by the head of media and publicity, Olugbenga Toki in Abuja.

The summit which is themed “Social Media As a tool for participatory governance” would have presence of personalities from different sectors of the Country.

Olugbenga noted that the event scheduled to hold in IBI Centre, Wuse 2, Abuja, would also have the Chief Executive Officer of the Image Merchant Promotions Limited, Alhaji Yushau Shuiab as the keynote speaker.
The chairman of the event is the Executive Director of the Centre For Information Technology Advancement and Development (CITAD). Other guests expected are; Former Minister Of Communications Technology, Barrister Adebayo Shittu; Nigerian Institute of Public Relations President, Muhktar Sirajo; Mary Uduma, Chair Nigerian Internet Governance Forum; Amina Salihu, MacArthur Foundation; Bolaji Repete, Deputy National Youth Leader, All Progressives congress; Bala Ciroma, FCT Commissioner of Police.

The panelists are Bamidele Danielson, National Association of Nigerian Students President; Bello Shagari, National Youth Council of Nigeria; Mubarak Mijinyawa, Speaker Nigerian Youth Parliament; Ibrahim Olarotimi, President National Union of Campus Journalists. Other top guests are also expected at the summit.

The organizers noted that different Civil Society groups,media groups, Student groups, media professionals are also expected at the summit.

This summit is coming at a time when the Social Media is determining a lot of change in the Country’s Polity and issues.
